Older people in Oxfordshire looking for a new home in time for Christmas are being encouraged to consider Bromford’s retirement living development, Park Gardens, in Banbury.

Park Gardens, located on Bath Road in the sought-after market town of Banbury, is a beautiful collection of 78 self-contained one and two-bedroom apartments, available through both open market sale and the Government’s Older Person’s Shared Ownership (OPSO) scheme*.

The OPSO scheme is available for house hunters aged 55 or over, and allows homebuyers to purchase between ten per cent and 75 per cent of a property’s share value. They then pay a mortgage on the share they own and pay rent on the remaining share.

OPSO works in the same way as the general Shared Ownership scheme, however individuals can only buy up to 75 per cent of their home. Once they own 75 per cent, they won’t have to pay any rent.

Property seekers can make the move to Park Gardens in time for Christmas, and enjoy the festive season amongst a thriving community, if they reserve a property by mid-November.

Currently, a range of apartments are available to purchase now, including the two-bedroom Shared Ownership Woodgreen style apartment, priced from £162,750 with a 75 per cent share value, and the two-bedroom open market sale Easington style apartment, priced at £283,000.

The Woodgreen apartment benefits from a spacious, open plan kitchen/living/dining space, and the Easington boasts a large open plan living/dining area with a separate kitchen. Both of these stylish apartments feature integrated appliances and a balcony, creating a wonderful, relaxing space. The properties are finished off with a contemporary wetroom, storage cupboards and two bedrooms, with the main bedroom benefitting from fitted, mirrored wardrobes.

These homes have been carefully designed with natural décor, making it easy for homeowners to add their own personal touches and allowing them to create a space that’s perfectly suited to them. The apartments are completed with a state-of-the-art emergency call system, energy efficient heating, thoughtfully positioned plug sockets, telephone and satellite connection points, and optional communal parking.

Catherine Jarrett, director of sales and marketing at Bromford, said: “Park Gardens is a wonderful development, providing retired downsizers, couples and individuals with luxurious new homes amongst a friendly and close-knit community. The OPSO scheme makes it easier than ever for homebuyers aged 55 or over to secure a brand-new Shared Ownership home, and our lovely sales team will be on hand to answer any questions interested purchasers may have. I’d encourage anyone who is interested in making the move to Park Gardens to get in touch without delay, as I don’t anticipate that the remaining apartments will be available for long, especially as we’re now in the run up to Christmas. We’re very much looking forward to welcoming new residents into their homes in time to celebrate the festive season!”

Park Gardens is home to a range of communal facilities, including a communal lounge, activity studio, gym, café bistro – which holds regular coffee mornings and afternoon teas – hair and beauty salon and allotments. Pets are welcome at the development, and visitors can stay overnight in the fully furnished guest suite.

Residents can also benefit from gated access to the People’s Park and easy access to Banbury and nearby amenities, providing them with all the perks of the town centre whilst enjoying peaceful, countryside living.
