Work is underway at Aspen Walk – a development which is bringing 150 new homes to Eight Ash Green, near Colchester.
Construction of the Bellway development is also creating 123 new jobs in the area as the new homes are built.
With groundworks at the site off Halstead Road now moving forward, the housebuilder plans to release the first selection of homes at Aspen Walk for sale online this winter, with an on-site launch scheduled for next spring.
Jenny Walker, sales director for Bellway Essex, said: “Groundworks are now underway at Aspen Walk as we look forward to delivering 150 much-needed new homes to the Colchester area, including 45 affordable homes for local people. The development will also generate significant new employment opportunities for people in the local area during the construction phase. Additionally, we are dedicating almost half of the 20-acre site to public open space, creating footpaths, meadows and a children’s play area for the benefit of both new and existing residents in the village.”
Aspen Walk will be a mix of two, three and four-bedroom homes located on the edge of Eight Ash Green village.
The development is just over five miles from Colchester town centre and just a mile and a half from the A12 for links to Ipswich, Chelmsford or London. It’s also about three miles to Marks Tey railway station for direct trains to London Liverpool Street.
